Yuvazhep: Kundalika water rafting on 4th March 2012

Yuvazhep: Kundalika water rafting on 4th March 2012

The sun is beating down upon us. The heat is inhumane. This is one of the effects of Climate Change. You switch on the A/C to beat the heat thus adding to the woes of Mother Nature. We simply take respite in the cool waters of a gushing river.Adrenaline and tranquility are two things that only adventurous folks use in the same sentence. The peace of mind that accompanies thethrill can be experienced only at a few places. White Water Rafting is one such activity.

Join us as we battle 12 rapids of varying degrees on the 14 km stretch of the Kundalika River. As the damn opens its door and floods the otherwise calm Kundalika, we mount on our rafts and ride the waves in our orange rafts! Towards the last stretch, we will float around in the wide river and watch clouds and time drift by.

Event details

Location: Kundalika River, Kolad

Peth Fort, also known as Kotligad, is a major attraction of the small village Peth nearby to Karjat. Peth is a conically shaped hill and it offers a panoramic view of the foothills. One can view the Konkan country side from the fort and the beauty of this view is majestic. Peth, also known as 'Kothaligad' and because of its shaped some even call it the ‘Thumbs up’ point. It is more commonly known as Peth-gad because of the base village.

This fort, though small in stature, has a vast historical background. It was more of a 'Defence station' than a strong fort. Peth was mainly used to store ammunition.
